Some of the auto-reset chips require that you remove the cart and re-insert it. You might try that. If it s not auto-reset, you should have a resetter. Paul

Maybe after the repeated cleaning cycles the “black” ink cartridge is really empty, or maybe it was faulty to start with. Have you checked the ink levels?
