What about having repros made? I could check with the guy that made my selector pad bracket and see what they'd cost. Let me know if anyone is interested. --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, jesper <jesper@...> wrote:

I posted several times that the SDS7 is very sensitive to physical influences like shocks from transport. Remember, they called it "simmons cabasa". If somebody is so brave to risk a transport, he should wadd it into foam rubber and not attach rack ears. In case of studio rack use, a large hum problem may show up. The SDS7 has the signal grounding on the metal box and no soft earth/ground lift. Another con is, that the rack ears would only screw to the lid of the box and I myself would not trust the static of this thin metal. My tip: Screw an Akai Sampler into the rack and place the SDS7 on top of it! You don't need to use the Akai... Michael

Thanks Michael for your valuable advice. I try to do that you say. --- El mar, 23/3/10, Michael Buchner <buchnerelectronics@...> escribió: De: Michael Buchner <buchnerelectronics@...> Asunto: Re: [Simmons Drums] SDS7 RACK EARS Para: Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com Fecha: martes, 23 de marzo, 2010 17:28 I posted several times that the SDS7 is very sensitive to physical influences like shocks from transport. As mentioned before (I think) the seller of mine used the holes intended for the rack ears to screw pieces of wood onto the SDS-7. To these he attached a longer board across the front to protect wheel, buttons and the rest of the panel. Good work! So there are some good use for those holes I guess! :D > In case of studio rack use, a large hum problem may show up. Good for me that I have no ground in my studio then. ;) > Another con is, that the rack ears would only screw to the lid of the > box and I myself would not trust the static of this thin metal. > My tip: Screw an Akai Sampler into the rack and place the SDS7 on top of > it! You don't need to use the Akai... The last advice is the best! :D My SDS-7 rests on top of my Tangerine Dream drummer and he has never been happier. A sturdy piece of german music history just below the rubber feet. -- electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se
