As mentioned before (I think) the seller of mine used the holes intended 
for the rack ears to screw pieces of wood onto the SDS-7. To these he 
attached a longer board across the front to protect wheel, buttons and 
the rest of the panel. Good work! So there are some good use for those 
holes I guess! :D

Good for me that I have no ground in my studio then. ;)

The last advice is the best! :D My SDS-7 rests on top of my Tangerine 
Dream drummer and he has never been happier. A sturdy piece of german 
music history just below the rubber feet.
