well you could send the kick in a Tube preamp (UNIVERSAL AUDIO Solo610 for example ) wher eyou can manage the saturation level & then compress it badly behind

I d go for a techier kick sound. More electronic sounding with a clear click. Compressing something that s in the same spectrum as something else won t help
