Hellooooooo

Hellooooooo

2005-12-15 by bass_krazy

Hi, new to this forum but have been peeking in from time to time.
I recently picked up a XL-7 (had a Mo'Phatt module) because I thought
it would offer a very effective interface for tweaking the P2K engine.
I will say it really allws you to get into the P2K engine much better
than the rack modules do.
I currently have the Phatt ROM in the XL as well and was going to add
the Protozoa ROM which I am familiar with, but it looks like the
Composer ROM is a better choice.
Any thoughts on wether the sound quality on the two ROMS is the same of
does the Composer have a more polished sound (or maybe I should say
modern) compared to the Protozoa?
Not actually thinking about the instruments themselves but just the
elements of the instruments.
Example if I created a piano preset on the Composer and created a
similar preset on the Protozoa would the ROMs have a different
distinction to them or would it be pretty similar?
Again it's good to see a functional forum for the Commands, it's a
pretty useful unit in many different ways.

:)

The piano sound on the Composer ROM is better for sure. Most of the
Proteus1 sounds on the Protozoa are pretty dated sounding, but the
P2\Orchestral and P3\World sounds are good. Unless you need the
Orchestral & World sounds, go with the Composer. Actually, look for
the "Pop" ROM instead, it has the same sample set as the "Composer"
but the presets are MUCH better.

Thanks, I used the Protozoa as a reference since I know that sound
well, but have only limited experience with the 2000.
I've seen Composer ROMs fopr sale but don't think I have ever seen
the POP ROM for sale (unless it still inside a 2500).
