Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

While that E5k sounds pretty cool, take his comments with a grain of salt.  Just because it has all the ROM data, does NOT mean that you could burn ROMs from these.  They won't have any presets.  The only thing the Ultra samplers can understand is the Proteus instruments, so all the presets will be empty.  No arps, no patchcords, no layers, etc.

$650 seems like an good deal, though I haven't priced comparable units in a long time.

Oh, and the Flash ROMs were custom designed at E-mu.  They won't be compatible with anything else.

PS. The XLead ROM's samples/instruments ARE the Audity2000 stuff (from the eBay ad)

i guess the later e4's could probably do this (could take 64 mb chips) 
but the ultra 5000 and other later samplers sound better for this.

so has anyone here done this with any of the e-mu samplers? i cant find 
much information on the 'proteus class ROM chips' as that seller put 
it. i've been looking for a couple days now and am wondering if there 
are cheaper chips made for computers or something else that would work 
for this.
