Rackmounting P6 is not a high-tech task. It s still the same P6, the sound is the same, and you can connect any MIDIbox to have real knobs. You may use better

If you re going to get high-tech, why not go for that Legacy Software (is it a Korg product?) that puts the P6, and several other classics, on your computer.
