Thanks, Laurie! I haven t had a chance to take pictures of the unit, busy with work this week. I ll check out the resource you listed to see if there is

Also, though these docs might be in the group s files (I didn t look) there is an EML Owners Manual and a Service Manual here, along with other Electrocomp

Hi Van, and welcome here. Maybe this will help: http://www.cem3374.com/docs/Manuals/EML/400_SM.pdf Or maybe it won t. There seems to be enough interest in

Hi All, A fellow group member suggested I join, so here I am. I have an EML 500 that I m looking to use my Kenton ProSolo MK2 on; however, board has no

It could be of use. You d just have to figure out how to get +/-15VDC to it. The +/- VDC output out of the 401 is Tip: +15V, Ring: -15V and sleeve is ground.

That MUST be extremely rare. In all my dealings with EML, I didn t know that they might have packaged their units in an enclosure such as this. That also begs

So as an EML 100 owner then this box would have no use for me without modification? It s not just plug and play?
2011-08-18 by George Mattson
Ah, Doug, you re getting old :) The 401 has a +/- voltage out jack between the Vext input and the trigger out on the lower left of the panel. It requires a TRS

Here is a link to the one on Ebay. The one locally looks exactly the same except it has the original EML knobs.

To my best recalections, the none of the EML synths had any sort of DC power output jacks. Would have been nice though. I have to assume you are referring to

I first saw one of these on the bay about a month ago (still there, crazy expensive) but have an opportunity to buy one locally for much less. I want to buy it

Doug, it s not possible to control all 4 VCOs from the jacks on the 101 - it has been suggested here in older posts that the only that might be possible is via

It has been a VERY long time (1970 s) since I worked on a 101, but don t recall why there might be interface problems - not to say that there aren t any. (I

Hi Oliver, Initially it can be a source of frustration that the EML synths won t sync with anything else (it s partly the 1.2v/oct and partly the weirdness of

As far as I know there are two issues at play for HZ/V/Oct. 1 - The octave scaling everyone talks about. Technically you can calibrate one octave between the

I have never gotten my EML101 (older, pre-Sequencer input jack) to respond to either V/Oct nor Hz/Oct. My understanding is it is V/Oct but it is 1.2 volts per

So, i knew something was confusing and i looked into my old emails... dave wilson of NESM had explained it to me before and i just remembered it backwards:

The 200 is basically just a bare integrator IC with a UJT, cap and diode network in the feedback loop. The center frequency and both swings are all summed

i never had any luck trying to get the EML to track to any hz/volt synth... it just can t scale that far beyond 1.2 v/oct... the way the controls are on mine
2011-07-19 by Prosper Prodaniuk
I know the difference i just had heard hz/v mentioned for them. A guy playing his with a MS-20 etc. On 2011-07-19 12:15 PM, Nick Zampiello

The 200 and 101 oscillators are a non-standard 1.20v/oct hz/volt is more of a japan convention: korg, Yamaha, etc... i can get mine to tune to other 1v/oct
2011-07-19 by Prosper Prodaniuk
Maybe in this someone can answer whether or not the 200 (and 100) are HZ/V as opposed to V/OCT and then they went with the V/OCT convention for the 101 and

Schematic differences are odd indeed. However, I d suspect at it s age, you ve likely got a leaky portamento cap that needs replacing. Looks like 15uf on

OSC2 is an audio frequency oscilator so it seems your EML 101 is in need of a service. The only VCOs that operate in the LFO range are OSC1 & OSC4
