More Saving Bugs

More Saving Bugs

2002-12-19 by David DeciBel

What's going on with the saving? I'm in song mode trying to simply change a
preset back to the way it was when i first did it on track 8B - It won't
stick - no matter what I do. Eventually I'll find some dumb way to do it
like by entering some nonsense song data, but whats up? 1.4 pls?

I'm not understanding the problem. What do you mean "change a preset back
to the way it was"? Are your trying to do this by a patch change command or
QuickEdit? Something else?

No. If I go into my song, and set up a preset on channel 8B with a certain
sound, from phat drums to some keys, it works fine. I save the song, and
then re load the song hit stop 3x and it goes back to the phat drums....

You need to save that in the Pattern, not the Song. Just press Pattern
while in song mode, select the new Preset, then save the Pattern. When
you go back into Song mode it should work. Or are you referring to the
actual song track itself?

Song Track. I noticed this also happens when I'm in pattern mode trying to
change the SENDs and sometimes even presets.

I don't really use the Song Track, so I don't know off the top of my head.
Did you accidentally record a PC message in the track? Use Event List
Editor to take a look, perhaps you can just change it to your new Preset
from with in there. Strange that you have issues in Pattern mode with
Sends and Presets though, never seen that myself.

Re: More Saving Bugs

2002-12-20 by Clay <bass17yl@yahoo.com>

I've noticed that if I change my Sends, then save without first
hitting Record, Stop (to cause the Save button to blink), it doesn't
save my changes. This may be what David's problem is. I've
found that most Save problems can be fixed by hitting Record
followed by Stop before saving. I guess the machine needs the
Save light to be blinking before it acually saves anything?

Re: [xl7] More Saving Bugs

2003-01-02 by Aaron Eppolito

First off, make sure that you've set the song to use "song preset
changes" instead of pattern preset changes (song edit menu).
Otherwise, it ignores patch changes in the song track. By the way,
this goes for all the different items in that screen.

Once you've done that, you'll need to set up the presets for all 16
tracks and save. The easiest way to do this is probably to leave
"pattern preset changes" enabled, start playing the song, stop, switch
"song preset changes" on and save. You may have to put a dummy event
on each channel you want saved in the song track to get it to save for
that channel, I can't remember.
