What sequencer are you using?

What sequencer are you using?

2002-05-22 by David Jones

The topic came up about online (computer based) sequencers. What is everyone using?
Personally i find that ZTracker has a great interface because it's adapted to ... well ... us old school trackers. But when I can't find what I need in Z, I use cubase. Anyone else using their mp/xl with Ztracker? If not what are you using?

I personally am a sequencer slut, using Fruity Loops, Sonar, Cubase VST 32, and Pro Tools LE. Not to mention the MC505 and the ES-1.

Heh, I bought it again because it transmits everything and is super fast to set up good beats. Transmits definable note numbers, transmits valume changes done with Accent, transmits the flam. Not to mention for basic beat handling it's fine (Slicin up grooves etc. ) and it's easy to cart around. *shrug* I have the heavy duty gear but when it comes down to it I am faster on the ES-1 than with a mouse. More musical as well. If the XL-7 let me do variable acents and flam was an option I wouldn't really be worried about the ES-1, save for basic sample mangling...

actually I miss the slicer function in the Es-1. It was a decent unit for a while, but I had a lot of timing issues (i'm not the only one) - As a slave it was worth the money.

Studio: Digital Performer. Live: Max/MSP. (Well, Max/MSP is a MIDI and
audio construction system rather than a sequencer, but all my MIDI
processing and arpeggiation software runs in it.)
