Quantize Resolution anybody?

Quantize Resolution anybody?

2005-12-15 by mcachaito

Just wondering if the Amount and Swing parameters are utilized during realtime record
(as long as Quan: is ON)
OR if these are just used when "applying" Quantize to a patterns track(s).

I can't imagine this work with Grid record too right?

Also, Does anybody have some intersting or favorite settings for Quantize, Amount and
Swing that they want to share? (mpc grooves anybody?)

Thanks in advance
 mc

Hi,

I have no answer to the first part of your thread,
but to suggested quantizing parameters...

For hats and percussion doing House/Techno I start with
53% Swing and 60% of amount

For Hip hop you may try applying
48% Swing to Snares
that may give a more agressive feeling to the basic Beat

As a general suggestion
try to use different values for the last part of the cycle, speaking
about a 4 pattern loop, use different setting in the 4th pattern.
That will sound more natural.

After velocities, I consider Swing as the most important detail in
Beat programming so I´m very courious about more suggestions...

Cool - I'll check this out ...

Anybody Else? _ I would think this should be of interest to anyone making beats -
or Maybe this is like those secret Hawaiian slack key tunings that are handed down from
generation to...

How about input quantize - what are you guys doing there. 32 note triplets anybody?
Do you use differnt settings on different tracks??

Thanks again...

Happy Xmix - everybody!!
