Re: [xl7] Re: Emulator X vs Proteum.

Personally it's not the dream news I was looking for, mainly because not only is it software based, but it's also PCI card based as well. So for live use it's pretty much a no go. Still, for a software sampler it does have it's appeal, not much more about it I can say though. It just doesn't have enough features to make me want to jump from Kontakt (sorry Sean, no offense...) As for EMu X versus Proteum, I think that you're comapring apples to oranges really. I don't think you can use Emu X to work as a patch editor for the XX-7's, at least not from what I understand. I got a chance to play with Proteum over the weekend, and while it does indeed work with the Command Stations, it left me rather uninpressed to be honest. Very generic interface, and you still have to jump between many menus on screen to get results with it. I thought that the GUI left a lot to be desired in order to make it easier to use than the built in menu based editing. To sum it up, it works, but not in a way I thought was much better than using the menus on the XX-7 for editing. Anyway, that's my short review. :) rEalm Or you could just spend $70 on the protean editor.... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "djskurge" <djskurge@y...> wrote: Basically this is the command station/sampler hybrid most of us have been drooling about.
