Sound Presets get lost...

Sound Presets get lost...

2004-01-25 by midinovelarg

Hi again,

i made a mess with an software libarian.. by mistake i uploaded empty
sounds to the mp7, the libarian created empty sound slots called
usr., i copied some presets there, so far it seems to be all right,
the presets appears in the browser, but if i use this sounds in a
pattern, ubicated in user rom lsb 0, only between sound 8 and 127
next time i load the pattern it does not load the sound, it always
loads the sound 0, at lsb 0, further if i try to acces this songs in
the user part of the rom with a soft libarian, mp7 says device not
installed.
how can i fix this? i was seeking some kind of reset to factory
default, but i cant find it, i checked this user group, dont find
nothing either...
any ideas?
Thanx
t.

INITIALIZING PRESETS/DIAGNOSTICS MODE/librarian issue

2004-01-25 by steve_the_composer

Hard to tell. It could be a problem with your librarian software.

Suggestions: find someone who has whatever librarian software you
have. If it is commercial, go to website, look up knowledge base,
FAQs, or leave e-mail. If it is shareware or freeware, try e-mailing
software designer. Some of them are very helpful and want to hear
about bugs in their software. They may even work with you to improve
the software.

STOP===>DON'T DO THE FOLLOWING UNTIL YOU HAVE READ WARNINGS

You can do a factory reset from the diagnostics menu. Power up
holding both cursor buttons down. In OS 2.0, there are options to:
Initialize User Data and Initialize Data Except Seq. (among other
options).

WARNINGS:

SAVE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SAVE BEFORE INITIALIZING!!!!!!!
(eg, do sysex dump of presets to external sequencer or other
software; use E-Loader to save patterns and songs)

AS FAR AS I REMEMBER FACTORY LOADED SONGS AND PATTERNS ARE NOT IN ROM
AND WILL NOT BE RESTORED IF YOU INITIALIZE ALL!!!!!

Hope this helps.

it helps, thank you so much steve,
as i know in pattern data is also preset data stored, but i guess its
nothing more but the preset locacion and maybe initial controler settings,
right?
so if i backup my sounds and put them back into their original locaction, i
may have resolved my problems...
