emu xl 7 ... a nightmare?

emu xl 7 ... a nightmare?

hi,

after weeks of waiting I finally got my XL7.
opened the box and started playing around. waaw what a sound.
BUT ... after 30 minutes of scrolling down the factory presets my XL7 
frooze! It gave the following message "ERROR!CODE=001 FATAL:BAD 
INSTRUCTION" and I couldn't do anything anymore. After that it 
wouldn't start up properly ... it immediately frooze or stopped 
playing after 5 minutes ...

What am i doing wrong? or is my machine messed up ...

I would try to download the latest os and update the
machine again. Perhaps there is something wrong with
the installed os.

someone any idea what this errormessage means and how to solve it?
my xl7 says "ERROR!CODE=001 FATAL:BAD 
INSTRUCTION" all the time

Open it up and make sure everything's seated properly. If it still don't
work send it back to your supplier and ask for a replacement.

Open it up and make sure everything's seated properly. If it still don't

Best call emu and talk to them on the phone first. My guess is that there may be a ribbon loose inside the machine, which, if so, is very easy to fix.

But talk to an E-Mu tech before you do anything major.
