If you're going to go with the Sp505, might as well try and find a used 
sp808 for the same price.  The sp808 is a very cool sampler IMO, one of 
the few pieces of hardware I miss.  Unlike my S3000XL ;)  Plus, if you 
find an older (black) sp808, it can be upgraded to the same specs and 
features as the EX version for cheap!

what about the Roland SP-505 - it's only 8 voice, but it does take up to 
128Mb Smart Media?  The ES-1 only samples at 32Khz which is a bit lame in 
this day and age.

Depends on how much you want to spend.  Less than a grand, I'd say got 
with the Korg ES-1, more than grand, go with the Akai MPC200OXL.

I'm looking for a good sampler/seq to compine with my xx-7.  I've 
been tossing around the RS-7000, the MPC2000xl and a couple other 
ones.  Any input???  I'm a Drm & bass/ hip hop producer.   Haven't 
gotten my xx-7 yet, but i got my tax return today so... i'm odering 
one asap
