I don't know if you use it, but the next version of Proteum (in a month or two, I hope) will have a number of new features. Many have been imposed on me because the data wheel on my P2K is starting to go and I need a way to do everything from my PC remotely, but we'll put that aside. Anyway, one of the most important is the user-editable tooltips, someone suggested here a couple of months back. Essentially, I have created a tooltip entry for every control in the system describing what it does (much of the text coming from the user manual). Users can amend the text to leave notes for themselves. I have also added a mechanism through which users can set a tooltip for any Preset, Instrument, Riff, Demo, Arp or Setup. The idea is to use the tool to document the content. However, that is not complete yet because I am still thinking about how to package the texts into the files created by the software and how to make the texts easily viewable, so people can quickly "point-and-click load" something they are working on. Keith I have also added a setup/multi editor, a tuning editor, a bank map editor and a whole chunk of other stuff too, but more of that nearer the time. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Fred Smith <rs6000jade@...> wrote: > > Thanks for the replies, it's really helpful.
