Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

The subouts can do a couple of things.  Using a TRS (tip,ring,sleeve) cable you can assign 
tracks to the sub outs and route the dry signal to an external effects unit.  The effected 
sound comes back into the command station and plays out of the mains with the rest of 
the tracks.

The other thing you can do (which I just tried over the weekend) is route tracks to the sub 
outs using a regular 1/4" cable to external gear.  Whatever is assigned to the sub outs 
won't have any effects from the command station (dry signal).

I assigned track using the Global menu, then saved as a Multi Setup.  I was in song mode, 
so I set the Event Source- Mix: to "Song Only"- otherwise the patterns seemed to reset my 
track destinations.  I was recording a song on my multi track recorder and had the drums 
out of Sub1 going to one track and synth from the Mains going to another track.  Don't 
know if I did this right according to the manual, but it worked perfectly for me.
