Yes. 100% of a 16th note is a 16th note. Funny how that works. Quantize resolution has *nothing* to do with this discussion. There are two quantize values, one in the pattern edit menu which is the "offline" quantize function (like in a software seq). The other is input quantize, and that only affects *realtime record*. Neither have anything to do with gate. We've all been trying to help you very hard, but it's tough when you haven't told us what's wrong or what you'd expect it do to. To me, 50% gate of a 16th note is a 32nd note. This seems completely self-evident, so maybe we all skipped that. In grid edit mode, you have the choice of 4 resolutions, 16th, 32nd, 8th triplets and 16th triplets. Therefore, your gate is a percentage of that resolution. You're not going to get a longer duration than the grid resolution, because you'd end up overlapping identical notes, which is bad. In step edit mode (which *hasn't* been brought up yet) your choices for step duration are much more varied, yet still, the gate is a percentage of *that* duration. Note that this duration can be greater than 100% because the assumption is that you're playing different notes each step. Anyway, I don't know what to explain beyond that. -Aaron --- malik <malik_martin@...> wrote: > turned the quantize resolution down to 4 so it cant be that.... > im hoping it isnt broken and im sorry if i seem ike i'm coming off > with an attitude but its very dissapointing when you're anticipation > something as big as a command station and something seems to be wrong > with it. i guess i want prepared to handle something like this. i > really dont mean to hav an attitude of course but i dont want you to > think im just playing games with you to figure out my problems for me > either. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
