Sorry if my post sounded a bit harsh, but I'm just trying to help you out and this problem of yours is confounding us all! :D > ok > - i go to an empty preset in pattern mode > - hit record twice to go into grid mode > - i see the sixteeen empty dashes representing the sixteen buttons > - the lcd says the note position and velocity i switch velocity to gate by > using the cursor and navigating to vel and using the big knob or just hitting > the quiick edit buttton over the 16 knobs > - i'm in gate mode and turn the gate up to 100% just to hear it's effect. and > get nothin. so i try o use different patches basses pads whatever. nothing Interesting. So when you're in Grid Mode recording and the you're adjusting "Gat:" using the knobs, you turn things to 100% but when you hit play nothing sounds? Do you get the little bars on each of the 16 steps that you've modified above 0% (in the display)? I just tried this again to see if I was understanding what you were saying and it worked for me. I've always thought Grid Mode was pretty cool because of the knob editing feature. I'm assuming you don't have velocities of 0% in the "Vel:" edit, because that won't sound any notes. This may sound like a stupid question, but is the track set to INT in the channel routing (Pattern Edit 2nd to last screen)? If it is set to EXT or NONE, there won't be any sound from the internal synth. If you can get sound from the internal pads on the track, but not from Grid Mode with steps that are clearly showing beats on them, you may have a bad OS (although I've never seen that before on 4 Command Stations that I've owned). Another question, is the MP7 running the latest OS 2.0? If it's earlier, maybe that's part of the issue. Curiouser and curiouser... -- Mibrilane
