no you didn't come off as pissed....no problem here
just trying to figure out the best way of working with
both my XL7 and RS.....I plan on tripping a few times
before getting things right....as for the overdub
comment I meant to use that word loosely... I know you
can still go in and edit that channel so its not an
overdub but you can only mute the entire track that
contains all these channels? am I right or wrong? or
is there a way to quickly mute certain channels that
are playing in that track without going through the
menus? I may be using the wrong terminology so please
bare with me....also remember that I am going to be
using this live so I need ease of use over flexibility
and depth
thanks

I hope I didn't come off as sounding pissed cause I'm
not. I still
don't think you get tracks vs. channels though. It's
not about
layering. It's about what you record into (tracks)
and what you play
(channels). Just read what I wrote a few times. Once
you're clear
that you don't "overdub on 1-16b tracks" (because
1-16b are CHANNELS)
it will make more sense to you.
