I hope I didn't come off as sounding pissed cause I'm not. I still don't think you get tracks vs. channels though. It's not about layering. It's about what you record into (tracks) and what you play (channels). Just read what I wrote a few times. Once you're clear that you don't "overdub on 1-16b tracks" (because 1-16b are CHANNELS) it will make more sense to you. -Aaron --- Brock Hiroshima <brockhiroshima@...> wrote: > > I understand how you can have so many > channels/patterns laying on one track and how many you > can layer both ext or int.....I don't want to layer > tons of sounds in one track only because I want to > gravitate towards playing/sequencing live and be able > to turn off/on each sound on the fly...I might layer > some drum sounds but don't really want to mix it in > with say some synth bass/lead sounds.....ideally I > would like to use the Xl7 to add extra tracks to my RS > 7000 since the RS has a sampler and then be able to > creatively use the pads(I'm used to) from the Xl7 to > control my rack synths and make patterns > > hope this clears a little air > > > --- Aaron Eppolito <synthesis77@...> wrote: > > > --------------------------------- > I've said this a few times before, but the new guys > haven't heard it > yet, apparently, so: > > Get your head around TRACKS versus CHANNELS. > > They ARE NOT the same thing. > > The sequencer has 16 TRACKS.
