I figured out how to turn off the INT sounds with the track I was working with and its great now being able to use my external gear.....but the track layout is a bit tricky though... how you overdub on 1-16b tracks is kind of misleading since you don't get to see them layed out and lit up in the command functions buttons for punching in/out for live playing/sequencing....it shows this is more for production than for live playing....it might be easier just to route 3 tracks say 14a,15a,and 16a to external gear so you have the ability to punch them in/out without having to jump in the menu..... I have a Yamaha RS 7000 as well and down the road would like to experiment and maybe eventually use it live as the master midi clock and use the Emu Xl7 to control my other synth engines so I could use command functions buttons to punch in/out ....I don't want the Emu to respond to knob movements from the RS 7000 though.....ideally this would be cool so I would have 32 tracks total to work with in front of me and have a sampler to work with.....would this be an easy task? or should I just dedicate one or the other? any suggestions or past experiences are welcome..... thanks Brock --- steve_the_composer <smw-mail@...> wrote: --------------------------------- Glad the explanation was helpful. I am not sure what you mean by "turning off 1-16a in multi/pattern mode." Could you clarify? --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, Brock Hiroshima wrote: > Ay Steve thanks for a great explanation there I > appreciate it! one question though how do I get > 1-16b(external synths) to play along with 1-16a(my > patterns/drums) without turning off 1-16a in > multi/pattern mode? > > thanks > Brock --------------------------------- Yahoo!
