I think I understand. Let me know if this is right: You want to use 
the MP-7 as a sound module only with the sequences being played from 
the Mac sequencer (no sequences being played from the MP-7).

BUT:

You want to be able to mute the Mac sequences with buttons on the MP-
7.

If so, the only way I can think to do that is if your Mac software 
can be programmed to turn the sequences on and off with note 
triggers.  If so, you might be able to use the 16 MP-7 buttons in 
>>note<< trigger mode.
