That s a trick with a lot of equipment I think. You can do the same with a Kawai K5 to get an acceptable output level and less noise (Specs are ~ -52dB SNR)

Hi Mark I can help with the battery problem. Clean up with a solution of bicarbonate of soda. Mix a couple of teaspoons full in a tumbler of warm water.
