The thing that bothers me is that if you learn the basics of using a modular then you can be take those skills and apply them to anything from FM synths to virtual synth software. What appears to be happening is that very few people understand synthesis basics. What you are doing in as a fundamental understanding versus tweaking controls until something cool happens (not that it isn't fun to do that). All of this probably explains why music technology has advanced tremendously but the music hasn't. Ivan
