You have got to be kidding me. Totally absurd. About $500 too much if you ask me. You could've gotten a SDSV or SDS7 for that kind of money. Also, Michael - aren't most of those eproms your work? Are you getting a cut of the sale? Sorry to vent but this is ridiculous. --- In Simmons_Drums@yahoogroups.com, jesper <jesper@...> wrote:

I don't get a cut of the sale, but it was my fault (?) to publish the binaries at Simmonsmuseum. I have to live with it. There are nearly 300 eprom sounds in my collection, my customers get a preview via mp3 and can order eproms for reasonable prices like 5 or 7 Euro each. If people want to have their custom sound on eprom, that is also no problem. I don't need to get rich with this business, I am already. ;-) Michael

I think 150 would be OK for all those proms etc, but I agree, hence the sharing. Regarding the data on the proms I bet it's Michael who made it public, but the sounds aren't really his, are they? Anyway, it's lovely presented and a studio/touring drummer might consider it a bargain... or it is just a stupid collector buying. :) A friend sold his SDS-800 set a few weeks ago. He got 3500 SEK which is in the same ballpark, but that was including the original hardware, all pads in good shape (white) and the brain in a nice nick too. Swedish artist Robyn's tour drummer bought it so now we'll probably see more SDS nostalgia on the world's electro/pop club scenes... My bid was 3000 but I stepped down considering I had to take it from Stockholm to my place... and I was just planning to resell it anyway. :) -- electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se

My favourite sounds comes from proms salvaged out of old computers and printers. Older printers had all fonts stored on proms. Juicy, crunchy and nice they sound when played in a SDS-1. :D -- electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se

Well ... as long as someone is ready to pay such a price for what it is. When you know what an SDS1 does... Really... What sort of of cult could it be then ? (I loved mine so much that I gave it to a friend :) Even giving it, I had the weird sensation to steal him. but Anyway... I have a prototype suitcase with missing parts & destroyed foam... I wonder how much it could reach. :-D Selon jesper <jesper@...>:

Some people just don't want to share and some just take all for granted ! Some people here on the list share all their stuff and some don't even bother ! So I'm absolutely with Michael and Wolfgang, that it's all a give an take... On May 16, 2010, at 4:46 PM, Jacquot.Patrice@... wrote: What will it change ? What did want the buyer ? Not sure we're talking about the same aspects, & to see any link with prices, sellers & buyers. Of course Wolfgang & Micha\ufffdl have the freedom to share or not what they want. (God Bless you guys for everything you did (& still...) about or for that small SImmons world :-) That's keeping it alive ! Selon Thomas Heckmann <troperecordings@...>:
