Look at 1:15 and 2:54. If that's not a set of SDS-3 pads I need to see a
doctor.

Hi!

The Band Nina Hagen is playing with later on separated from her and made
"their own music" as "SPLIFF". They recorded three albums and used
Simmons Drums extensively. Listen to "Deja Vu" or "Herzlichen
Gl\ufffdckwunsch". They are on youtube too:

i liked them better together with Nina, but that's personal. Great TV show
"rockpalast". Get's me a bit sentimental, those were the days you had to
stay up until 3 o'clock in the morning to see those kind off concerts. Man,
they really had all the names back then, Getting old maybe?

just wanna share

greets
Berk

Kind of funny, the black/white head SDSV kit I have came from one of her tours. I bought them from Spit Stix. If anyone by chance happens to have pictures or videos of that tour, I'd love to see them.

Re: Betr: Re: [Simmons Drums] Nina Hagen & the SDS-3

Yes and Yes.
I asked him if he could give me a brief history and this was his reply for those interested:
I bought a 7 piece Simmons kit with hardware and a SDSV brain in 1983. $3500.
This was the 15th made. I went to the factory in Calabassis, California.
I then joined Nina Hagen's band for some Germany dates.
Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers had been in Fear with me and he knew Nina.
I stayed for several months in Berlin while we toured all around Germany.
Average audience size, 10 thousand.
After I got back in '84 I started playing Fear shows with the same kit so I could compete with two Marshall stacks and an Ampeg SVT bass rig.
I used to rent my own SVT for a monitor.
I used it on the second Fear album and the US tour that followed. (More Beer_1986)
I thought it would bring me some session work but when I finally got a call for it on a paying session they didn't even want me to play.
I hope that helps.

Tim aka Spit Stix

What a good choice for a Simmons monitor amplification! ;-)
