Has anybody made a MOTM panel for the Compact Clone? Will Bridechamber do this? thanks, Nathan

A panel is in the works, but not yet made. If you scroll down on this page, you can see a couple ideas from us: http://www.dragonflyalley.com/billAndWillMOTMSynth.htm On the above page, the left thumbnail represents a panel for the Krautrock as Jurgen designed the circuit. Jurgen helped by reviewing this design and we've incorporated his suggetions. The right thumbnail is a fantasy at this point - it's an "if only we could add a daughterboard so CVs could be used" version. And my son, Will, put the little skull and crossbones on there <G>. As designed, there are no CV inputs to the unit. The three jacks BYPASS, RATE, and DEPTH are for switch and expression pedals. I believe I recall that Jurgen warned us that applying a CV here could be damaging to the unit - hence our little warning on the panel. There's a momentary switch for the effect bypass. If you were making this into a stomp-box these things would be particularly handy. I think the reason progress on this stalled a bit is that some of the parts have been hard to get west of the Atlantic. And one of those parts is the E10 panel-mount socket with the groovy, retro lens. I found these parts at various over-seas suppliers and there was talk of a group-buy. But Jurgen recently partnered with a fellow who, I think, can help us get the parts - but I haven't had time lately to explore further. Anyway, I'll turn my attention back to this. Hopefully Scott can get it in on one of his next runs. Bill --- In ModularSynthPanels@yahoogroups.com, Nathan Wooster <woostern@...> wrote: > > Has anybody made a MOTM panel for the Compact Clone? I just got my phaser working tonight! Everybody can thank me later: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062366&cp=&sr=1&origkw=lamp+holder&kw=lamp+holder&parentPage=search It works fine with the E10 bulbs I have. They also have E10 holders which could probably be adapted to work for the PCB bulbs. I'll probably make a post to the electro-music thread about some of the other parts (relay, heat-sink) I found to work. Nathan

Nathan - cool! Will and I had gone to the big Radio Shack near us (the one that all the HAM radio guys frequent - and therefore they have *everything* <G>) and we did not see this item. We had boughten one of everything they did have, and none of them suited. The biggest challenge is, of course, the 7V bulbs. Anyway... I'm glad this worked out for you - Will and I will go back down to Radio Shack, your clipping in hand and demand satisfaction <LOL> (which, let's face it - I can't get no). Perhaps dueling pistols would help facilitate the matter <G> - OK - OK - that was too oblique. Thanks Nathan! The 'Shack... the source of much electronics ambivalence, huh? I went there to get some 10uF caps because I was out and wanted to get a couple orders in the mail, but couldn't bring myself to pay $1.27 or something for ONE cap! : ) Scott Deyo The Bridechamber contact@... http://www.bridechamber.com Jealous Edison Record Kompany http://www.jealousedison.com

I ordered some bulbs from this place back in June: http://www.elektronica-online.com/target/content_details.php?id=5428 but have not received them yet, so I can't exactly recommend them. I got impatient and was able to buy some bulbs from an electro-music forum member. Nathan --- In ModularSynthPanels@yahoogroups.com, "wjhall11" <wjhall@...> wrote: > > Nathan - cool! Okay, I spoke too soon. I got home from work, and the lamps from this place were waiting for me. They work. Nathan --- In ModularSynthPanels@yahoogroups.com, "Nathan Wooster" <woostern@...> wrote:
