Mark, I have a late 1969 wood chassis car. The chassis number was stamped on the aluminium panel at the side of the engine bay near the side engine mounting.

Mark, On the steel chassis, the chassis number can be found on the dash sub panel behind where the speedo is located. It is hand written with a magic marker.
