On the steel chassis, the chassis number can be found on the dash sub panel behind where the speedo is located. It is hand written with a magic marker. There is also the factory paint colour. On the left top frame rail, near the aft upper suspension arm attach weldment, is a steel stamped chassis no. I don't know if the factory used this means of identification on the wood chassis cars do not, but you might have a look.

Sorry Larry,
I missed that one. It is a wood chassis, I was told one of the last to come state side. Being new to Marcos I seem to forget all the details.
