4 x 201e - 4 cabinets linked

4 x 201e - 4 cabinets linked

2009-06-22 by m0n075

Hello list

Can i link 4x 201e - 4 cabinets together and use one patch storage module once the 4 panels are filled and linked?
I am asking because i wanna build an enclosure like my Serge modular.
And put the Buchla next to it.

Cheers,

Dennis

to my knowledge, the 200e patch storage won't work with more than 24
modules in the system (if it'll work at all with that many), or 2 x 12
cabinets.
There were plans to interconnect two cabinets somehow in order to be
able to link them under one patch storage facility at one time, i think.

I recall asking this question before and i seem to remember this much
from the conversation.

I could be (and hope i am) wrong...

Thanks Alesandro

But with 4 panels off 4 modules i will be safe i think.
I just wonder if it would work but i think the answer will show up soon.

Cheers,

Dennis

Yes, it works. I had 4 x 201e-4 rack mount cabinets connected together in a previous configuration.

how do you link them?

I am looking to add to my 18wls and looking at 2 more 201e-6 Could they
be linked?

Re: [200e] Re: 4 x 201e - 4 cabinets linked

2009-06-23 by ezra buchla

there is a limited number of modules that can succesfully use the i2c bus
simultaneously. it's not an exact limit because it depends on the actual
modules involved. 24 is quite safe. 30 is probably ok. there's been plenty
of discussion of this topic on this list.

maybe there is a design solution like chris mentioned. i for one will not be
worrying about it; if i had that many modules i would be fine controlling
their presets in 2 large groups; could be interesting.

so, ross: i'd say it's worth a try, especially since not everything in your
cabinet is e-series.

I think I forgot to ask the most obvious question.

How can they be linked?

if you buy an unpowered boat it will be shipped with the proper cabling
stuff for your particular need

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
