there is a limited number of modules that can succesfully use the i2c bus simultaneously. it's not an exact limit because it depends on the actual modules involved. 24 is quite safe. 30 is probably ok. there's been plenty of discussion of this topic on this list. maybe there is a design solution like chris mentioned. i for one will not be worrying about it; if i had that many modules i would be fine controlling their presets in 2 large groups; could be interesting. so, ross: i'd say it's worth a try, especially since not everything in your cabinet is e-series.
