Loading multisetups from SX / MidiOX

Loading multisetups from SX / MidiOX

2003-07-26 by Justin Grimley

Can anyone help me to load Realm's multisetups for Reason? I have
tried using both Cubase SX and Midi OX. In Midi-OX I can see that
the SysEX data is being sent to the XL-7 and the midi in light on the
XL-7 lights up. However, I am expecting to see a new multisetup in
the Global menu but there isn't any. Do I need to put the XL-7 in
receive mode? There is no mention of this in the manual.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Justin.

Multisetups only load into the current multi. If you want to save
them, you must choose save multisetup in the global menu after each
dump.

Aaron,
Thanks for the reply. OK, so I send the "Reason DRRex.mid" to the XL-
7 and save it to a user multi-setup. Then I go into Reason and setup
Remote Control under Advanced midi settings to the XL-7 midi port.
Then I enable midi input on the sequencer track assigned to my DR Rex
module. When I turn the knobs on the XL-7 whilst in Quick Edit mode
nothing happens. If I set the knobs to Program mode then the knobs
control the pitch bend and modulation wheels only.
I am missing something here?
Thanks, grimley

Slight clarification (hope I'm not saying anything wrong, misleading,
harmful, or useless here, Aaron. If so, see note below.):

With sysex commands, you can automate the process as follows:

1. Send multi from computer to Command Station
2. Send sysex command to save the multi to the user multi location of
your choice.

Repeat this for as many multis as you want.

The process should be detailed in the the archives: message 9596.

WARNING: Make sure you have backups of your own multis. If you send
a sysex command to copy one of rEalm's multis (for example) to
location 000 and you have a multi that you spent 6 hours creating in
location 000, IT WILL BE WHACKED. (Hope I'm using that word
correctly.) The same will be true if you save the multi to location
000 from the front panel.

PLEASE NOTE: If there any oversights or errors, please e-mail me
privately and I will either correct the post or remove it. If there
are any questions, please post here.

Thanks.

Dr. Steve
