one bug and some suggestions

1- Bug : erasing a step in Song Step Recording mode. as mentionned sooner (see message 6811), the erase function doesn't work properly in Song Step mode. More precisely : suppose you are working on some song and want to erase a step, you are supposed to be able to delete that step just by pressing ERASE on that step in song step recording mode. If you have only 1 step to delete somewhere it works fine. But if you want to delete several steps one after another, especially if they are at the beginning of the song, it does not remove the steps but only replace them by the following step, or sets the preceeding step longer. This is a major problem, because thus you CAN'T remove for instance the 4 first steps of a song, you have to rewrite the whole new song.... And when you want to delete several steps at the middle of the song, you have to re-set manually the length of the preceeding step, which is really inconvenient, and absolutely not intuitive... 2- Matter of taste : some suggestion about user interface In my opinion, in Pattern Edit menu, when using COPY/CUT/PASTE/ERASE track functions, the 'track' Number should be set by default to the currently selected track ; indeed, when you're working on, say, track #7, you don't COPY/CUT/PASTE/ERASE on track #3 or whatever. Moreover, this way you can select track number quicker than with the arrows and data entry wheel. 3- Effect send amount per channel : possible or impossible ? This 4-buses FX architecture is fine, but in my opinion it doesn't give enough freedom to the user regarding the % of send amount, since you can only provide 4 different amounts for the 16 channels. I'm simply wondering if it is a matter of architecture, or a matter of implementation, to have the possibility to define 1 send amount per channel. I think the E-MU's team read this newsgroup, and if by any chance these points could be taken into account for the next OS upgrade, it would be great ; through OS-upgrades XL-7 has become a great machine, let it become the BEST machine (it's a pity to have to use paper&pen to write songs...)Thanks for reading ! dj CymnX
