Since it hasn't happened yet, I would assume never. In any case, for a little more than the price of the 32 meg flash ram, you can get yourself a decent rackmount sampler with a great deal more memory, a hard drive and lots of other good stuff... bIz --------------------- www.groovetronica.com - "No offense, but a dated d&b loop with some Holiday Inn lounge singer hardly wows me technically or talent wise, and I could do better with a cassette deck and a microphone." ---------------------

i suppose you're right...but it would be nice to have a few 'personal' samples to work with within the box...hmm, heard a rumour somewhere that future udates may allow storage of samples through e-loader onto a free rom slot...peculiar...has anyone ever heard of this? or just random ramblings? I don't know about elsewhere in the world, but in Europe the E-MU E5000 is sold for close to nothing, given it's capabilities (let alone building custom flash memories for the Command Stations). http://www.digitalvillage.co.uk/aproduct.asp?ProductID=45 http://www.netzmarkt.de/thomann/thoiw2_artikel-136580.html With EOS 4.7 FAT32 support, should be cool. :) lostusomewhere2003 wrote: > i suppose you're right...but it would be nice to have a > few 'personal' samples to work with within the box... -- Sebastien, -=-=-=-=-= I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

Yes, I hear this a lot. However, considering that the guy's who would bring this about are on this list, and they've never mentioned it, it's safe to assume that this is whole bunch of wishful thinking. Additionally, considering how much they packed into the last update, you'ld think that the would have taken care of a function as basic as sampling before now. bIz > <html><body> > > > <tt> > i suppose you're right...but it would be nice to have a <BR> > few 'personal' samples to work with within the box...hmm, heard a <BR> > rumour somewhere that future udates may allow storage of samples <BR> > through e-loader onto a free rom slot...peculiar...has anyone ever <BR> > heard of this? or just random ramblings?<BR> > <BR> > SV<BR> > <BR> > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, <biz@g...> wrote:<BR> > > <BR> > > Since it hasn't happened yet, I would assume never.<BR> > > <BR> > > In any case, for a little more than the price of the 32 meg flash <BR> > ram, you can get yourself a decent rackmount sampler with a great <BR> > deal more memory, a hard drive and lots of other good stuff...< BR> > > <BR> > > bIz<BR> > > ---------------------<BR> > > www.groovetronica.com - "No offense, but a dated d& amp;b loop with some <BR> > Holiday Inn lounge singer hardly wows me technically or talent wise, <BR> > and I could do better with a cassette deck and a microphone.& quot;<BR> > > ---------------------<BR> > > ----- Original Message ----- <BR> > > From: lostusomewhere2003 <BR> > > To: xl7@yahoogroups.com <BR> > > Sent: Saturday, May 10, 2003 3:30 PM<BR> > > Subject: [xl7] sampling...<BR> > > <BR> > > <BR> > > Hi, does anyone know if/when we'll be able to save samples in the <BR> > > command stations without having to burn roms from and ultra <BR> > > sampler??? i cannot afford an ultra, and i do not know anyone who <BR> > has <BR> > > one...and i DO NOT want to rid myself of my XL, but really want <BR> > to <BR> > > use my own samples....oh, X-Mix ROCKS!!!!! reminds me of my old <BR> > MC-<BR> > > 505 megamix...xcept that thing was just a toy..hehehe, thanks <BR> > y'all.<BR> > > <BR> > > <BR> > > <BR> > > SV<BR> > > <BR> > > <BR> > > <BR> > > <BR> > > Yahoo! I was a rep for E-mu until last year, and I know that there were plans for a new sp1200 type box. Basically it was going to be a command station with sampling. But from what they were saying it should have been out by now. thanks for the info...but yeah, electronic music companies...you never know if things have been shelved or if they're still fine tuning it...as Rolands new box has it's fair share of problems out of the box..anyway..i'll be happy with my XL for a while...picking up a sampler soon so now i'll have a duo tons better than say a 909, or anything like it. as for the new emu box, if they ever do release it, it had better beat my XL and rack sampler for me to even consider trading up.... sv --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "glennjamison" <glennjamison@h...> wrote: > I was a rep for E-mu until last year, and I know that there were > plans for a new sp1200 type box.
