Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

linking knob functions for different presets..is this possible ..say 
i want to controll the  filter of ch1 and the amp attack of ch 2 with 
the same or even different knobs,heh..  at the same time ..without 
pre recording it ...

I think what you want is the Realtime Controller menu screen under 
the controllers menu.  It looks like a:00 b:00 c:00 d:00 and so on.  
These numbers correspond to cc#'s for the Quick Edit knobs in each 
preset, so setting A:22 will make all presets have the cc:22 for 
their filter cutoffs.  (Be sure to look up some unused CC numbers in 
the manual first.)  What I do is set the programmable knobs 13-16 
with filter cutoff, Q, volume(cc7) and pan(cc10) set to the basic 
channel, so whatever is the current selected preset gets controled by 
all those knobs.  The rest of my programmable knobs are routed to FX 
and pads on the B channels.  Hope this helps.

Ok, what I'm wondering here, is:

While in sequencer mode, is it possible to have knobs routed to multiple channels?
To elaborate, does the XX-7 allow you to modulate multiple channels at once?
An example would be A - filter channel 1
B - filter channel 2
C- filter channel 3.....
and so on....... I'm currently using an XL-1, I'd like to upgrade to an Xl-7, and this would is pretty important to me.

Yep.  There's a "programmable" knob mode, accessible with a front panel
button.  In it, each knob can be assigned an independent channel,
controller number and internal/external status.
