Patch save/restore

Patch save/restore

2003-03-10 by Kris Musard

When restoring patches via sysex, are you required to
have the sound roms in the same memory slots within
the command station for the patches to be loaded
correctly? Also, when backing up individual presets,
does the restore go to the same user slot as before or
can you specify which slot to load the patch into?

No. Each sound ROM has its own unique ID. (this is the number you
would change to migrate presets from XL-1 to XL-7 for all you sysex
hackers out there...)

Same user slot. Though again, if you're sysex savvy, you could
download the Proteus 2000 sysex manual from emu.com and edit the bytes
in the sysex dump that specify which user location the presets is to be
stored.
