Daisy Chaining Modules (newbie)

Daisy Chaining Modules (newbie)

2003-01-29 by drewaight1 <drewaight@hotmail.com>

Hey I got a MP-7 two days ago. Time to take my setup out to Bars.
I want to chain my
MIDI keyboard --> MP-7 --> MC307 --> SP808EX
I could care less about synching BPMs or MIDI clocks or even external
sequencing (the MC307 has its own and the SP808ex samples dont need
triggering) BUT I do want to be able to switch easily from
playing/looping realtime the sounds on the MP-7 to controlling the
MC307 without having to pull out the cords in the back while on
stage. Furthermore I understand you can MERGE MIDI messages Thru the
MP-7 but can you turn on the Thru so that it is a true THRU and not a
MERGE????? Also is there and quick ans easy way to do this or do I
have to use the MIDI edit menu every time.

Finally I can't figure out why anyone would want to use an XX-7 in
conjunction with a desktop sequencer??? Doesn't one buy the command
station so one doesnt have to take a computer into a club? Wierd

Thanks in advance

                                                        Drew

The XX-7's make great control surfaces, I use mine with Reason all the
time, easier to tweak multiple knobs that way.
