unique rhythm's.....

unique rhythm's.....

2002-11-28 by Mike - Positive Productions

Hi all,

   What's up everyone?

How do you all feel about the beat repetition and redundancy of some popular dance songs on the
radio. For example, Darude - "Sandstorm," etc. I think more people would dig dance if the beats
weren't so robotic and "4 to the floor-ish" (including myself.) After all, there's a synth.
preset that allows you to make a "house" beat by simply pressing two keys down (doesn't require
much brain power to make this basic beat.)

I know it's a pop song (no pun intended) but, the beat of N'sync's "Pop" actually requires
talent (thanks to BT.) Anyone hear any new music by BT or others producing unique beats
(including YOU)? I've got a bunch of songs that I am working on.

   Happy Turkey day to all!!

DJ

I think the new Sasha ³Airdrawndagger² has some great unique beats.
Underworld always has interesting, sometimes quite complex, beats happening,
and the new album is no exception. They are one of the few that can really
pull off a 10-15 minute track that has my interest start to finish.

I think it's depressing, basically.

Since you ask, I guess my material is new, and I guess it counts as
unique since nobody else is using a pulse sequencing engine. Check out
http://www.cassiel.com/mp3/cyberlive.mp3 - it's longish (20 mins) and
constantly evolving (pretty much) via algorithmic sequencing.

Yeah, I agree about the repetition of rhythms, I created a dance
song that changes every 2 seconds. Unfortunately it made everyone on
the dance floor throw up. Maybe they just aren't ready for it
yet..:) If you do want something w/ changes try listening to some of
the newer Jazz. It still has synth stuff and cool rhythms in it only
more changes.
