Based on what you say, I think you are right. There is no mention of this or anything like it in the manual or addenda that I can see. Have you sent an e-mail to E-mu directly?
Til then it looks like you will have to patch/repatch or use a different external merger or a separate usb->midi box like a small midiman or something.

I'm running an A4000 (yamaha sampler) out of my MP-7. I also have my computer plugged into the Mp-7. I have MIDI MERGE ON on the MP-7. When I use a sequencer, the Note data goes right to my A4000 no problem. But when I try to get SYSEX data to it (from BZONE), it doesn't work! It works fine when I run right out of my computer into the A4k. So I figure there must be some filtering going on... ANYONE?"

There's a huge chance you need to plug the A5000 into the OutB and set midi in to midi out (Midi menu, Midi Merge OutB)

You definately tried it using port B? I know they strip all sorts of things out port A, I've not tried the sysex on port B...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
