Hey all,

I havent been keeping up for a while...
I noticed a new OS is out. Any word on USB support
for mac?

Is USB on mac that hard to implement? Not only have I
been waiting forever for EMU, but my Houston from
Steinberg is the same..... promised USB support.

Im not bitching, just curious, I'm soooo patient, will
my MOTU 1224 ever work on OSX?

OK I'll stop:)
sorry

No USB yet for the Mac. The problem is not that the Mac is more difficult
just that there are fewer experts at Mac programming around. Any
driver-level programming is pretty specialized. also some companies do not
place a priority on Mac support because it is extra work and sometimes
management perceives the market as smaller. Not say that is the case here,
just how it happens sometimes.

I'm with you on the MOTU OS-X support issue. MOTU will probably drop the
whole kit on us at once - DP3X, OS-X driver for the PCI-324. Hopefully
soon. That said, I personally am not at all anxious to move my music to
OS-X (even though I have been using OS-X for almost two years now for
everything else). Too much remains to be updated for OS-X. I can't imagine
even being able to get a basic system up at this point.

I have this same problem with the usb not working. I am using XP, and have
resulted to doing the MIDI solo. It comes up with an error, which at the
moment I can't remember for the life of me. Any thoughts?

You probably need to change the Sysex Packet delay in the MIDI Menu to a
higher value. Or you have a midi loop somewhere, so that your seysex is
coming right back to the XL-7.

The USB port can only be used with E-Loader to backup and restore Pattern
and Song data. That's it, nothing more.
