It also happends to me. btw there's probably a bug in E-Loader 1.1 as well, since I had the problem with installing the new OS, I decided to load E-Loader 1.1 and try again. But when I start it, it just says that "The native MIDI code library could not be found" and won't run.

What OS are you using? I'm guessing that possibly you are on a Mac and don't have OMS installed? But you implied that E-Loader 1.0 was working fine for you? I'll continue to pursue it on my end till someone tells me otherwise... Scott

Using a PC, Windows 95. At the other hand, I'm not going to use the USB port so I guess that's not the problems. I tried to install it on 2 different computers and got the same error message. Very weird. --- In xl7@y..., Scott Ruda <scottr@e...> wrote: > on 4/4/02 5:04 PM, nifflas at nifflas@m... wrote: > > > > btw there's probably a bug in E-Loader 1.1 as > > well, since I had the problem with installing the new OS, I decided > > to load E-Loader 1.1 and try again. Actually, E-Loader 1.1 *should* work fine on Win95 with MIDI, it just won't do USB. The error message you are reporting should not happen under any conditions. I do think it is related to the fact that Win95 doesn't support USB, but we had developed the code with that in mind and tested that case and it worked fine for us. Something may have gone wrong in the final build or installer. Let me look into it. Scott

You said you can't load the new OS, then say you don't know what an OS image is??? What did you try to do to load the new OS? The new OS and the new E-Loader (the application used to update the OS) can be found here: http://www.emu.com/products/xl7/downloads.html Scott

If you just got it in the last hour you don't need to re-download it. What kind of error did you get? If the error is something like 'the file doesn't pass validation tests' then you have the bad one. If you get some other error, then you have a different unknown problem. Scott
