xl-7 external control w/ bcr2000

xl-7 external control w/ bcr2000

I want to use my bcr to control parameters of the xl7 patches/presets.
Anyone got some mappings? Or experience w/ these units?

Google bcr 2000. There are a number of YouTube vids that might help. Not sure if there's a bcr2000 group; if not, maybe you should start one.

Also, if you post a link to the manual, some of us here could take a look and chime in with E-Mu ideas that might be helpful.

Assuming the bcr 2000 is some kind of controller, I'd first want to know (a) what it controls, (b) how it communicates with other devices, and (c) what controls it send out.

I didn't have my audio on, but the YouTube vid I looked at looked interesting. (It looked like it was being used to control software on a computer.)

it has endless rotary encoders...accepts and transmits midi ccs.
specifically i'd want to control the parameters of several diff internal xl7 patches w/ the bcr2000

The silent YouTube vids inspired me to find the manual (http://www.behringerdownload.de/BCR2000/BCF2000_BCR2000_ENG_Rev_C.pdf)easy enough. Looks fairly straight forward, as long as you go through the manual step-by-step and decide how you might want to use it. The most obvious is setting up CCs on the BCR2000 to control whatever you want on the E-Mu. What you want to map it to is 100% up to you.

The pdf manual is nice in that it starts you off with the basics of midi and gets more complex from there. I can see the appeal of using it with computer-based software audio stuff. It looks like it is so multi-functioned, you are only limited by your imagination--and, of course, the built-in functions of your gear/software. For example, if none of your gear/software responds to NRPNs (or RPNs), that capability of the bcr2000 is useless. But there's still tons that you can do with it.

Check out the vids; they should inspire you with ideas. Have fun!!!!

I like knobs!!! (That's why I got the P2500.) The sliders look fantastic! How much does one of those cost? (Not that I could afford it, but maybe I will win a lottery someday.) Thanks for the explanation.
