factory reset, patterns are crazy

factory reset, patterns are crazy

2009-01-08 by innovine1

Hey,
I just bought a xl-7 and the first thing Im trying to do is restore
the factory presets and patterns. I downloaded e-loader, and managed
to transfer the 135 files I found on emus homepage (XL-7 Songs and
Patterns.sit). Next, I transferred the presets (four files named
xl1Toxl7Bank0.mid, xl1Toxl7Bank01.mid and so on). I could not upload
the .smf files also available on the webpage. Now when I look at the
presets on the xl-7, they are not in the same order as mentioned in
the manual, it seems like they were placed in a random order, so when
i play patterns, they are all using the wrong presets.

Any tips would be very welcome, thank you!

Ah, figured it out eventually. Doing an Initialize User Data first
gets rid of the existing stuff, then loading the files gives the
correct order.
