1) wire the midi out of the keyboard to the midi in on the mp7

2) set the keyboard to transmit on midi channel 1

3) select the midi channel 1 on the mp7 using the up/down buttons to the left of the screen. any sound you dial in for this channel will be played by the keyboard...

alternatively, if you are playing less than 16 songs you can, before the show, select all the sounds you need on midi channels 1 thru 16 (or whatever) on the mp7. during the show, instead of changing the mp7, you simply increment the midi transmit channel on your keyboard & you will play the new sound.

this technique is great but you need to make sure that the 'rechannelise midi' option within the mp7 is turned off. if its off then midi channel 7 on the keyboard plays midi channel 7 on the mp7, otherwise whatever channel you select on the keyboard the mp7 will always play midi channel 1. i think that how it works though the mp7 might always play the midi channel you've selected on the mp7 regardless of the keyboards midi transmit channel... best to turn it off regardless.
