Bad Power Supply update

Bad Power Supply update

2006-06-15 by Chris Stack

As suggested, I open my XL7 and reseated everything... all the simms,
all he cables... anything I could unplug and re-plug. So far it hasn't
rebooted, but it's still exhibiting an odd phenomenon it developed
shortly after the reboots started... on most (but. I think, not all) of
the sequences, the patch for track 1 has changed to the first patch in
the user patch area. I can change it, but when I save the pattern, the
change doesn't stick.

I need to delve into it more but I suspect its due for a reset. I just
need to try a backup first. Never actually got around to doing that.
Some things we learn the hard way... That's one reason that I just
bought a Yamaha MO8... easy backup to any USB storage device.

Glad to hear the simply solution (checking simms, cables, etc.) seems
to have stopped the rebooting problem).

Not sure about the other problem, but here's something you might want
to try. When working on a new tune, save your current settings as a
multi. That will save presets on all channels (along with lotsa
other stuff).

If you load a pattern and the preset on C01A [for example] changes to
User 000^0, restore the multisetup you saved for that tune. C01A
should change back to what you save it as in the multi.

What happens next may help diagnose the problem. Try the following:

1. Press play. Does C01A switch to User 000^0?
2. Press stop once and then play. Any change?
3. Press stop two times [RTZ/reload] Any change in C01A preset?
etc.

If in conditions 1 and 2, C01A does not switch back to User 000^0,
but it does for condition 3, there is something in your pattern
causing that to happen.

Hopefully with the rebooting problem your patterns didn't get bogus
data jammed in there. To check, you might try the midi file reader in
E-loader.

Hope this helps.
