is input quantization only available in record mode?

Yes i believe it is, although you can easily switch in and out of Record mode while the sequencer is running to adjust quantize value. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

no it is not ... it is also available in pattern edit button located at the top right. scroll through the pattern events and input quantization....

yeah thats true but with the live performance i'm doing it will be too much of a hassle to do that... although the input quantise will be great for improvising onboard sounds in a live situation. and i guess i could use it to record special controls to the software too. hmmmmm xx-777777777777777777777..... --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, jigginz@... wrote: > > Yes i believe it is, although you can easily switch in and out of Record

yeah thats right!! so do you know if it works with the midi events sent while playing a pattern? --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, thomas pagan <mcsuspense@...> wrote: > > no it is not ... it is also available in pattern edit button located at the top right. scroll through the pattern events and input quantization.... > > malik <malik_martin@...> wrote: is input quantization only available in record mode?

would also be nice if the quantization varied for each track number. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, thomas pagan <mcsuspense@...> wrote: > > no it is not ... it is also available in pattern edit button located at the top right. scroll through the pattern events and input quantization.... > > malik <malik_martin@...> wrote: is input quantization only available in record mode?

doesnt seem to work when sending midi to other applications. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "malik" <malik_martin@...> wrote:

Input quantize only works on things you're actively recording, so it can't be too much trouble to go into record because you'd have to be there anyway for it to actually do anything. The offline quantize only works when the sequencer's stopped. It's one of the few operations that requires it. I tried to make it such that *nothing* had to stop the sequencer, but quantize wreaked havoc with the data structures and caused lots of bugs when the sequencer was still going. There is *no* playback quantize. Said another way, notes in the sequence come out exclusively at the time that they are stored. Input quantize works by forcing them to a value *before* they get into the sequence, and offline quantize works by rewriting every value in the sequence. There's nothing in the XL-7 that will retime things live or on playback. Would be nice though... -Aaron --- malik <malik_martin@...> wrote: > doesnt seem to work when sending midi to other applications. > > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "malik" <malik_martin@...> wrote: > > > > would also be nice if the quantization varied for each track > number. > > > > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, thomas pagan <mcsuspense@> wrote: > > > > > > no it is not ... it is also available in pattern edit button > located > > at the top right. scroll through the pattern events and input > > quantization.... > > > > > > malik <malik_martin@> wrote: is input quantization only > > available in record mode? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------ Yahoo!
