RATING @ SONICSTATE

I think a lot of that reflects the earlier bugs in the OS. read the
reviews, you'll see what I mean. Most of the complaints are fixed by now.

that´s right...but most grooveboxes got bugs.....some mor some less......
but emu goes the right way... good hardware.... and well software with some bugs, which can be fitted....
does anybody knows when the next update will arrive?
would be cool if I could start the engine with the last pattern... so i don´t have to scroll each time....

Speaking of which, does anyone know when the next update is coming out?
I hope it's a fatty, like the last one :>

Re: RATING @ SONICSTATE

I don't think it deserves 4.5 - I would now give it 1 because I had
to pay more money for buying it when the OS was in beta state. Now it
works better, and it's cheaper.

This is what "Giotto" said about the XL-7, and I agree 100% - the
sounds is amazing, but the sequencer is strange and doesn't really
make sense.

>Big problems and reason's why I took mine back: The channel
assignments are all out of whack. There is an option to assign a
given midi channel to be either sent to internal/external/both or
none, and when playing into the XL-7 via it's pads or an external
controller, these very important settings have no effect. In other
words, while playing into the XL-7 both the internal sounds and the
external sound sources you have midi'd up will play according to your
input EVEN if you have the Channel Assignments locked to play the
internal sounds only. Once you Do record in your part the Sequencer
pays attention to the int/ext/both assignment and does correctly send
your midi signals to the proper sources either internal or external,
but its a total pain to have to constantly turn volumes up and down
so you can SHUT a synth up long enough to record your part without
extraneous chatter from "unassigned" instruments. This is a BIG
booboo on the part of EMu's programmers.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
