new abuser...

hi all, i just picked up a second hand xl7 for a live hardware sequencer on
a new project and, whilst being very impressed with the sequencing options
(i started sequencing on an akai asq10 all those years ago!), was rather
disappointed with the default preset sounds. a musical mate of mine told me
that the xl7 was closely related to the audity 2000 rack but i've found many
more sounds on the a2k which are going to get used...

so, hunting for new sounds i've just downloaded the XL1 presets in sysex
format (i assume they work using cubase vst on os9) but wonder if anyone can
point me in the direction of more patches - mostly darkwave, ebm, synthpop,
industrial types.... thanks

& just so ya know - live we'll have the xl7, audity 2k, e64, roland r8m (all
sequenced) with 2 ions and a novation x-station played.

i know people are often interested in gear setups - for my studio gear check

obtw mrs moose loves the gooseneck light feature!

My 5 cents... Always programm you own sounds...Its
very easy on XL-7. though sometimes it takes alot of
time to deal with waveforms or patchcords to get for
example some interesting stereo,filter,sample,etc -
morphing pads and so on...
As for me I think that if you playEBM,Idustial , or
experemental electronica stuff its very important to
develop your own ,I say Custom , sound landscape...
So everything in you own hands... for sound design
XL-7 fits greatly, Ok,ok its not a modular synth, and
its not a neuron,or Kawai K5000s but it still
possibble to create some sound that no other gear is
possible to make....

Hello, I see your post on the yahoogroups xl7 list and i would rather if you were a cool man to deliver me your patch becomming from the audity 2000 ( I believe that the echantillons are the same in the xlead but the patch are different ). + You said that the patch are better so i'm interested in.

Please excuse my poor "frenglish" and to not return me nothing if it's annoying.

I've got to some new presets for the techno synth yard construction but...

Bye

having used an emulator 4 since around '98, plus an orbit & audity 2k i
doubt i'll have too much trouble!

Then. whats the problem?))) When i told that it could
take some time, i didn't mean any trouble, i did mean
time...time to check everything and to make everything perfect...

ah yes, time... something we're all short of! };-)

its always easier, for me anyway, starting for a rough set of presets that
are vaguely close than to start from scratch, but if theres none around then
i'll have to start from scratch...
