Anyone running this with a PowerMAC/Powerbook? Was there any problems?

Important to get OMS configured correctly first - and then launch Eloader. After that - no problems at all, just normal OS9 workarounds when (if) you get stuck, and that means rebooting and opening OMS first - IF you get stuck. If you do that and you are still stuck - it probably measn that OMS is not configured correctly.

To use eloader you need to be able to start up in OS9. Opening Classic while OSx is running won't work. You'll also need the OPCODE OMS app. If I remember correctly, it's on the emu cd along with the eloader app. I've had to keep my old iMac around just for the emu/elaoder. My new Powerbook won't start up in OS9. Hope this helps Mike --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "M A C Daddy" <studio_6512@y...> wrote: > > Anyone running this with a PowerMAC/Powerbook? I couldn't get it to work. E-loader only works in OS9. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "M A C Daddy" <studio_6512@y...> wrote:

If you read the post you're replying to you'll see the answer, which I've highlighted below >Anyone know if this will work on Panther OS 10.3.7? > >--- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "mike" <mikedancy@e...> wrote: >> > > To use eloader you need to be able to start up in OS9. I just had an idea... Can I use a midi program to download the midi patterns via something like ProTools? --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, PLASTICEFX@a... wrote:

No. The XL-7 uses closed-loop (handshaked) file transfer. -Aaron --- M A C Daddy <studio_6512@...> wrote: > I just had an idea... > > Can I use a midi program to download the midi patterns via something > like ProTools? __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I doubt it, unless ProTools implements the MMA's smf sysex transfer protocol. I believe E-Loader uses sysex commands to transfer the patterns. The e-mu converts the patterns into sysex packets based on the MMA's specifications for such transfers. E-loader reassembles the sysex packets into standard midi files so you can store them on disk (and vice versa). --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "M A C Daddy" <studio_6512@y...> wrote: > > I just had an idea... > > Can I use a midi program to download the midi patterns via something

*I just had an idea... Can I use a midi program to download the midi patterns via something like ProTools? No, you cannot 'download' the pattern, but you can record the midi outs of your emu device into protools. Once you have the recorded the midi file into protools, you can use that to trigger a blank pattern w/ the same preset voicings on your sound module.
